Heal your abdominal separation

Abdominal separation; the 'mum tum' that won't go away.

Every pregnant woman will experience abdominal separation in the 3rd trimester or pregnancy. 1 in 3 women will experience the lingering affect of the separation after birth. Research also shows that without a rehabilitative intervention the tissue will not improve itself.

Separation of the rectus abdominis (6 pack muscles) occurs to make room for a growing baby and if left to repair itself in the post partum period can cause all sorts of issues for a woman. Things you may notice if you have abdominal separation

  • Visible separation of the 6 pack muscles
  • Lack of core strength
  • Doming or bulging or abdominals during movements
  • Low back pain
  • Pelvic girdle pain
  • Pelvic floor dysfunction or pain
  • Poor posture
  • mum tum' or 'pouchy' look
